MADDISON Langley and Chris Sims, of Didcot Barramundi, shone at the 14 and under South East England Regional Championships in Crawley.

Langley shot up the British junior rankings after reaching two finals.

Competing in the 11/12 girls category, she came fourth and sixth respectively in the 100m and 200m finals.

Her times, of 1min 14.15secs and 2.35.68 mean she could be looking forward to competing at the nationals next year.

Langley, who turns 12 in August, will also be competing in the 50m backstroke event at the second of the regionals this weekend.

Sims, 14, won silver in the 200m breaststroke final with a time of 2.33.54 to move up to fifth in the British rankings.

In a close 100m breaststroke Sims had to settle for fifth place in a time of 1.11.50.

He is swimming the 50m breaststroke this weekend, along with the 200m individual medley, 100m and 200m backstroke as well as the 50m freestyle.

Isabelle Langley finished tenth in the 100m backstroke, while Ben Titchener, 14, came 13th in the 100m freestyle.

Ben Newell, Rory King and Harrison Deeley also competed.
