A MUSEUM curated by young adults captured the heart of its visitors as it told a story of kindness from Bicester's history.

Members of the Bicester-based charity OYAP have been diving into the history books and trawling through artifacts that represent an act of kindness in the town.

Those objects, big and small, were curated to create Bicester's first 'pop-up kindness museum' as part of a project to bring more culture to the town.

The collection which members of the public were invited to also add to included a number of items, such as the Yarnton Baby Box and baby clothes, which were chosen by the young adults and displayed.

There were also activities including crafts which Holly Peabody, 15, and Marcus Purnell-Spector, 17, got stuck into helping create a tapestry about kindness.

The pop-up museum was supported by The Oxfordshire County Council Museums Service and included a visit to The Museum Resource Centre in Standlake.

The collection will also be taken to a local retirement complex for residents in Bicester to chat with young people about the items and their memories of kindness throughout Bicester's past.

The idea was part of the Oxfordshire County Collections Project, and it was funded by Arts Council England.
