MIKE Ford is confident Banbury United will return to form in the league when they make the trip to Kings Langley tomorrow.

The Puritans have lost their last two Evo-Stik South Premier Division outings.

But they bounced back with a battling 2-0 victory against Hellenic League high-fliers Thatcham Town in the Emirates FA Cup last weekend – with a performance that pleased boss Ford.

“We weren’t at our fluent best last week, but that said, we did more than enough to deserve the win,” he said.

“In the previous two games, we’d forgotten about the importance of our defending, but last week we were excellent on that front and controlled the game for long spells.”

Kings Langley are in the lower reaches of the table and have yet to win a home game, but Ford is wary.

“They are always quite tough on their own patch, so we just need to show the same commitment and desire that we showed last week.”

Ford names the same squad that beat Thatcham.

TOMORROW’S TEAM

Banbury Utd (v Kings Langley, away): from Harding, Hawtin, Bradbury, Nash, Johnson, Carnell, Westbrook, Self, Louis, Leam, Howards, Shamsi, Martin, McDonagh, Winters, Pond, Peak-Pijnen, Humphreys.

NORTH Leigh will hand a debut to new signing Harlie Price when they entertain Shortwood United at Eynsham Park tomorrow in the West division.

The striker has joined the club from tomorrow’s opponents and Millers boss John Brough is delighted to have captured his signature.

He said: “Harlie will score goals if given the opportunity.

“It gives us another good attacking option.

“He’s perhaps lacking a bit of match fitness, but his first game will be against his old club, so that will add a bit of spice.”

Kidlington return to league action as they travel to Cinderford Town.

They will be desperate to bounce back after last week’s disappointing 3-2 defeat at Paulton Rovers in the Emirates FA Cup.

Declan Benjamin and brothers Eddie and Eric Odhiambo are back in contention, while Lance Williams, Lewis Coyle and Mark Janes have also shaken off injuries.

Ben Willoughby returns from a one-match suspension, but Elliott Osborne-Ricketts will miss out as he completes his three-match ban.

Didcot Town travel to unbeaten Swindon Supermarine, and will be keen to build on last weekend’s draw against Shortwood.

The Railwaymen name an unchanged squad, and boss Andy Ballard is confident his players can give the Wiltshire side a run for their money.

He said: “I was pleased with the reaction I got last week following our heavy defeat the previous week.

“Tomorrow will be a challenging game as Swindon are unbeaten, but we are going with a full-strength squad who are dominating games and creating chances.”

In the East division, Thame United travel to basement boys Hanwell Town, eager not to slip up against a team that have yet to pick up a point.

Mark West’s side were unlucky not to get something out of last week’s home clash with high-flying Moneyfields, as they slipped to a 3-2 defeat.

And the Thame boss believes if they produce a similar performance tomorrow, they will get a positive result.

He said: “We certainly don’t want to be the first team that Hanwell take points off.

“This is exactly the sort of game we should be winning, and if we have the same attitude and performance as last

week, we will be fine.”

West names an unchanged squad.
