Matthew Davies’s maximum led Drayton A to an upset 8-2 win over Letcombe A in Division 1 of the Didcot & District League, writes Owen Brazell.
Letcombe certainly missed their best player Richard Taylor.
Marlborough B went top with a 9-1 win over Moreton B, their only defeat coming in the doubles.
A surprising result in Marlborough C’s 8-2 win at Moreton A was the usually reliable Ray Powell dropping two matches for the hosts.
In Division 2, a maximum from Gavin Bosse gave Sutton C a 5-5 draw against Drayton C.
Upton returned to the top as John Talbot’s maximum gave them a 7-3 win over Sutton B.
Earlier in the week, Sutton managed a fine 6-4 win over RAL C thanks to maximums from Claudiu Silaghi and Lucien Danaila.
Second-placed Marlborough F kept up the pressure on Division 4 leaders Sandford A thanks to a 7-3 win over Sandford B, with Denis Hickman getting a maximum.
