SNOW fell heavily overnight and into this morning to cover much of the county in a blanket of white.

A Met Office warning alerted the county to expect snow up until midday before the rain moved in to clear most of it.

The yellow weather warning was issued on Saturday for the North of the county, before the MetOffice extended it to also include the rest of the county.

There was slight disruption to the roads throughout the morning due to poor visibility and icy condition, which forecaster have also warned could will continue into the evening and told drivers to give extra time when travelling.
Ice is also expected to form on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
This morning a sheet of snow settled on parts of the M40 through Oxfordshire with the outside lane covered, and the A40 into Oxford from the east also saw an accumulation which caused traffic to slow.

The snow is expected to become confined to northeast Scotland later in the day as it progressively turns to rain in other parts of the UK.
