LIVERPOOL rockers The Coral have been named as the final name for this year's Nocturne Live festival at Blenheim Palace. The five-piece will support Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds on June 15.
Formed in 1996, The Coral went on to become one of the leading UK bands of the 2000s. Their eponymous 2002 debut album, which featured the hit single Dreaming of You, reached the top 10 of the UK Album Chart and was nominated for the Mercury Prize. They released their eighth album Distance Inbetween in 2016.
Nocturne director Ciro Romano: said: "We’re really pleased to have added The Coral to the line-up for the Friday night of this year’s Nocturne.
"They were one of the most popular UK bands of the early 2000s and, having released eight acclaimed albums throughout the course of their career, will bring an incredible catalogue of music to Blenheim Palace for this show opening for Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.”
Nocturne runs from June 14-17. Other acts are Nile Rodgers and Chic, Gary Barlow and Elvis Costello, The Waterboys and Nick Lowe.
