IF someone told you this was a work of art, you might think it was a stitch-up.

Well, it is: this towering tapestry is just one of the exhibits at the latest show by Oxford Embroiderers Guild.

In case you haven't heard of them, the group – now celebrating their 40th year – are sew into needlework that they meet on the second Wednesday of each month (except August) at Iffley Church Hall from 7.15pm.

They are currently holding not one but two shows at the Vale and Downland Museum in Wantage: the first, Another Horizon, is a collection of stitched textiles inspired by travels near and far.

The second, Ruby Red, celebrates the guild's 40th anniversary.

Both run until this Saturday – April 14. See oxfordembroiderersguild.blogspot.co.uk
