A DRIVER remains in hospital with serious injuries after being pulled from her car following a head-on crash. 

The woman, who police said is in her seventies but had previously been reported to be in her sixties, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital on Monday. 

Thames Valley Police has launched an investigation into the crash which involved a white car and a silver car in Oxford Road, East Hanney at 11.49am and is appealing for anyone with information to come forward. 

One of the cars caught fire and two adults and a baby had to pulled from their vehicle by a member of the public. 

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries but has since been discharged.

The road was shut for several hours while the vehicles were removed and patients treated.
