A JOGGER managed to escape to safety after a cyclist leapt off his bike and pushed her to the ground.

Police said the man threw himself off his bike and onto the jogger as she passed, knocking her to the ground.

It happened at 8.25pm on Sunday near East Hagbourne, on a cycle path linking Upton to Didcot.

Thames Valley Police appealed for witnesses of the assault yesterday, stating: "As the man drew closer, he threw himself off his bike at the victim which knocked her to the ground.

"She managed to get away from the man and find help from nearby members of the public."

The man is described as white, approximately 6ft and slim, with a square body frame.

He was thought to be aged in his 30s and had light brown wavy hair, and was wearing a light-coloured hooded top.

Police did not specify the exact location of the cycle path, but Cycle Route website lists this route linking Upton to East Hagbourne and Didcot.
