TWO musical groups in south Oxfordshire have teamed up for the first time to put on a special concert.
Wantage Choral Society have joined forces with Wantage Band to present a concert in the Wantage Parish Church, on Saturday at 7.30pm.
The programme of British music for chorus and brass band will include Parry’s Blest Pair of Sirens and Jerusalem and the Gloria by Robert Rutter.
Wantage Band will also perform ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’ and one of the most renowned works for Brass Band, Eric Ball’s 'Resurgam’.
Both groups feature a number of prominent and award winning performers.
David Noble, a committee member of the choral society, said: "It should be a great evening and we are all very much looking forward to it."
Tickets for the concert are £10 (under 16s are free). They are available from a number of town stores, Ann Chadwick on 01235 770378, at wantageband.org or on the door.
