DONATIONS have continued to flood in for a young father after his death from bowel cancer.

Friends and family attended the funeral of 32-year-old Harley Curran at the South Oxfordshire Crematorium on Monday.

The much-loved skater, a stalwart of Didcot , died peacefully in his sleep on June 23, just days after returning home from hospital.

A fund set up in his name has passed £7,467 with friends continuing to donate.

In a statement posted on the fundraising GoFundMe page, his wife Vanessa Curran she said the remaining money had been spent on his funeral, something which would ‘take a huge weight off the family.’

The couple married on the roof of the Churchill Hospital in Oxford once doctors decide not to proceed with an operation and Mr Curran was given just a few weeks to live.

In a death notice, the family described him as a ‘beloved husband, father and son who will be sadly missed.’

Friends rallied around after hearing news of Mr Curran’s terminal illness with £3,000 raised in less than 24 hours.

Originally intended to help him fulfill a ‘bucket list’, the money was later used for home comforts after his condition deteriorated.

One of six siblings and father to two-year-old Lyanna, Mr Curran was born and raised in Sutton Courtenay and was well-known throughout South Oxfordshire.
