OXFORDSHIRE'S homegrown hero Gaz Coombes wowed crowds on the first night of this year's Truck Festival at Steventon.

The former Supergrass frontman dazzled the audiences with an all-singing, all-dancing set of new solo material and a few old band numbers.

The set, along with an equally popular show from Friendly Fires, sent spirits soaring after a brief but torrential downpour yesterday evening.

Oxford Mail features editor Tim Hughes, who was front and centre for the headline acts, shot these videos of former Wheatley schoolboy Gaz Goombes stealing the show.

He later caught a set from Oxford country and blues act the Deadbeat Apostles and was duly impressed:

Festival-goers were also last night treated to a set from Goldrush - a band formed by Truck founders Robin and Joe Bennett who reformed specially for this year's festival.

This morning, Oxford Mail reporter Harrison Jones, who is also reporting on the festivies from the front line, captured this beautiful picture of sunrise over the campsite:

Later on, music fans who were perhaps the worse for wear from the night before were helped to get back on their feet with an energising aerobics class led by 90s fitness guru Mr Motivator:

Tonight's headliners at the sold-out shindig will be Jake Bugg, George Ezra and Everything Everything.

The festival will be brought to a grand finale tomorrow with sets from The Amazons, Editors and Courteeners.

Those who were unable to go are invited to enjoy this short video of this year's highlights so far:
