He was driving a silver Toyota Yaris.
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses, in particular a woman who stopped to help the injured man.
Investigating officer PC Darren Baker of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, based at Abingdon police station, said: “I would like anyone with information about this collision to get in touch.
“In particular, we believe a woman stopped to talk to the injured man but left before police arrived, and we would really like to speak to her."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 1010 referencing 43180266462
