A teenager who burgled a caravan being used by a family of flood victims was today warned he faced jail.
Benjamin Leach, 18, admitted burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance during a hearing at Oxford Crown Court this morning.
Leach, of Caldecott Chase, Abingdon, burgled the caravan in Chaunterell Way, Abingdon, in December last year and stole cigarettes, alcohol, a mobile phone, keys, a purse and a wallet.
He then took a red Rover 420 and damaged it before it was returned.
Judge Patrick Eccles gave Leach bail - on condition that he lived and slept at home - and adjourned sentencing until July 25 for reports.
He told Leach: "You must understand, and I am sure you do, that all the things you did on that day, however stupid, they cross the custody threshold and you have to prepare yourself for a sentence involving custody."
