John Howell, the newly-elected Henley MP, has resigned from his position on Oxfordshire County Council's decision making cabinet - but will retain his role as county councillor for Dorchester and Berinsfield.

Dr Howell was also the cabinet member with special responsibility for south Oxfordshire.
