TWO multiple vehicle crashes are affecting roads in Oxfordshire today.
The A420 is partially blocked both ways near the Carswell Lane junction between Buckland and Littleworth.
And traffic is moving slowly eastbound on the A423 Southern Bypass in Oxford between the Hinksey Hill interchange and the Kennington roundabout.

David, wantage says...

I was cutting a hedge yesterday, being the quietest day in the week, helped by the F1 and Wimbledon, yet these mad drivers were clearly flouting the 30 mph maximum speed limit. Hardly, any cars indicated to inform oncoming traffic that they wanted to move over. It seemed their right of way to force oncoming drivers to move over or stop.
All drivers must know that they are speeding and ignoring the highway code. I really don't think that these big 4x4 status symbol drivers are worried about the price of fuel, rfl, tyres, or indeed other motoring costs.
Apalling behaviour that increases the social cost and motor insurance.
Amazing that the police have taken no action about the driver who crashed his car into our gate. Reason being that there were no witnesses or evidence, plus the fact that he drove off again and had to stop because he was too injured, but that was not seen as evading his responsibility to admit to the accident. He even told his insurance company that there was no third party damage. I have no confidence in the police over this incident. Look they take longer than ever to clear up after a crash, given that we now have camcorders and other technology to record the scene. Is it a case that there are so few traffic cops to carry out the work hence it has to be closed until such are available. Rather like all UK airports having only 2 drug sniffer dogs, rather than at least one in each airport.
