THE fascinating history of dyeing will be explored at the Vale and Downland Museum, Wantage, at an exhibition running from October 1 to November 8.
There will be a colourful range of handcrafted items on display, most of which will have been dyed using natural dyes from plants.
Demonstrations of weaving and spinning using dyed fibres and yarns will take place on some of the Saturdays and there will be a chance to have a go at weaving.
The biggest exhibition of art by Oxfordshire children ever will be held in Modern Art Oxford this autumn.
It will include 1,000 pieces of work from more than 350 schools and nurseries. The exhibition uses just about every sort of art medium, including sculpture, sound, photography, film, painting, ceramics and textiles.
The exhibits will include a forest of life-size trees made from personal items and a series of stained glass installations inspired by the plight of endangered species.
Oxfordshire County Council's arts adviser to schools, Arthur Penn, said: "What makes these projects so extraordinary is partly the sheer scale of them and partly the international dimension, as schools from Istanbul, Baltimore, Kampala and Malta have been involved."
The event runs from September 13 to 19.
