A detective, based at Didcot police station, has been suspended following a court case at Swindon Magistrates' Court.

Det Con David Muddiman was charged with section four of the Public Order Act 1986 involving the possession of a knife during an incident while off duty.

He was found guilty following a three-day trial at court on Friday.

The charge relates to an altercation with a group of youths on January 1, 2008 in Grove.

He will be sentenced at Swindon Magistrates' Court on October 1.
