Drivers endured long delays after a double decker bus caught fire and closed the A34 for three hours.
Motorists heading along the road were stuck in jams after the bus burst into flames near Chilton on Saturday.
Emergency services were called at around 11.30am and the northbound carriageway was shut.
There were no passengers on the bus at the time and the driver was not injured by the fire.
A spokesman for the fire service said the incident was not being treated as suspicious.
The dual carriageway remained closed between the junctions for West Ilsley and Chilton until around 3pm.
