SHOPPERS and residents in Wallingford will be quizzed on the town’s strengths and weaknesses in a bid to boost its growth.
Interviewers will be out and about on the streets of Wallingford, Henley and Thame until August 23 to find out what people like and do not like about the towns.
South Oxfordshire District Council has commissioned the survey to shed light on what makes each town unique and what improvements can be made to boost economic growth.
They also want people to report problems, so solutions can be found.
Workers in local businesses will also be asked about the market towns through an online version of the survey.
Rodney Mann, the council’s cabinet member for economic development, said: “This survey will give us a real insight into what people living, working and visiting South Oxfordshire think of the market towns now, so any future plans we develop for improving their viability and vitality focus on maintaining what is already highly regarded and address any issues. In order for us to do this, we need a really accurate picture of the towns’ strengths and weaknesses, so I urge as many people as possible to take part in the surveys.”
The online survey is available at southoxon.gov.uk.
