Severe snowstorms are expected to sweep across south Oxfordshire tonight as police warned to avoid driving in parts of the area.
The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning predicting as much as 10cm (4in) of snow could fall overnight.
Police confirmed this afternoon they have sent out a Land Rover to help motorists stuck in snow on the A4130 between Wallingford and Henley.
A number of drivers have abandoned their vehicles and police are urging people to avoid the area.
