A DEVELOPER is holding an exhibition on its plans to build about 49 homes in Marcham.

Banner Homes wants to build on land at King’s Field, off Sheepstead Road, and residents are invited to see its plans.

The exhibition will take place in The Livingstone Room at Denman College on Wednesday, April 25, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

The bid comes after Vale of White Horse District Council moved to relax planning laws to catch up on a housing target set four years ago.

The Tory council’s interim housing supply policy was approved by cabinet last month and is set to be rubber-stamped by the full council next month.

The policy would run until 1,000 homes are built in the district or until a long-term housing strategy is adopted.

Paul McCann, Banner Homes group planning director, said: “We are in the early stages of devising plans for the way the land at King’s Field could be developed to help to deliver much-needed new housing.

“However, we are keen to hear residents’ views on the proposal and are holding this public exhibition so we can take on board comments of the local community before progressing our plans.”

Representatives from the developer will be on hand to discuss the plans and the firm has said comments made at the exhibition will be taken into consideration if a planning application is submitted.
