Woman in hospital after A420 crash (From Herald Series)

Had a refridgerated van up my backside for a spell on this road and then watched as it did excatly the same to the car in front after dangerously overtaking me. Rang the police but not sure what happened after that. The van pulled into a layby (without indication and at the last second). I hope it was his boss.

Saddo, you have to understand that some people are on the road to earn a living and you should pull over for them if they are in a hurry, as you were not. And by reporting him what do you hope to achieve?. For him to lose his job, and then lose his house, and then be claiming £thousands in housing and other benefits to support his family. anbd possibly a break up of the family with him losing his job. John you need to take a look at yourself and see what is wrong with your own life to make you so vindictive. Go and make an appointment with your GP, you have serious problems to want to destroy the life of another person who has done nothing to you.

Are you a complete idiot? Tailgating is ridiculously dangerous. Plus it causes most traffic jams, especially on dual carriageways. Not only that, but the tailgater will not have time to stop if the person in front has to brake as a reaction to something, and the person being tailgated often gets distracted by the car behind being up their rear! It is very intimidating behaviour.

In short, dangerous and gets you nowhere, earning a living or not. A van driver, earning a living by driving, should drive even more carefully so as not to risk losing their licence/living, do you not think?

Everyone is missing the point here - quite simply, the road network in Oxfordshire cannot cope with the volume of traffic. The A34, A420, A338, A417, A40, A415 etc. etc. all suffer with heavy traffic Mon-Fri because people need to travel OUT of the smaller towns for work.

Why does the person who THINKS they are being tailgated not drop a few mph and let the person driving for a living pass instead of driving at a speed too slow to make progress but too fast to allow the other vehicle to pass. I will answer that, it is because of the perverse attitude such as the poster above, who would love to destroy somebodys life because of his own bad driving. A bit like people that speed up when you go to overtake them, what is going on in their head.
