ENSAR Gol looked at his victims’ families and grinned as a jury condemned him as a double murderer.

The 22-year-old, who brutally stabbed his wife and mother-in-law to death, pointed smugly at himself and mouthed the words “me, me” as members of the public gallery took in the jury’s decisions at Oxford Crown Court yesterday.

Gol killed wife Michala and her mother Julie Sahin, and attacked their friend Casey Wilson, on September 4 last year.

He committed the murders in the house in Ireton Court, Thame, he shared with his wife, their two children, Mrs Sahin and her husband Mehmet.

Today Mr Justice Supperstone will sentence Gol, who arrived in Britain from Turkey less than a month before the attacks, for two murders and an attempted murder.

The starting point, barristers for both sides agreed yesterday, is 30 years in jail.

The week-long trial saw the defendant claim he acted in self-defence, but it took the five men and seven women of the jury just two-and-a-half hours to conclude otherwise.

They heard 50-year-old Mrs Sahin, 28-year-old Mrs Gol and 20-year-old Miss Wilson received more than 100 knife wounds between them, more than 70 of which were stab wounds focused around the neck and throat.

On the evening before the 2am attacks, Gol told a cousin on Facebook: “I will cut them all.

“I will cut the mother-in-law and the wife.”

He added: “All the English papers will talk about me tomorrow, the crazy wolf, crazy Turk covered London with blood.”

Less than four hours later, Gol had covered the house in “thousands and thousands” of bloodstains, a forensic expert told the trial.

In the immediate aftermath, the former Turkish army soldier, who served 15 months’ national service, was seen on CCTV clutching his daughter and the knife.

In the back of the police van he sang at officers and bemoaned the fact he had covered his expensive clothes in blood.

As detectives quizzed him in a series of interviews, Gol did not answer any questions and issued a brief statement through his solicitor, which read: “I, Ensar Gol, say that I do not wish to comment on my arrest or the case as the situation is very traumatic and impossible for me to discuss at this time.”

Gol was remanded in custody to be sentenced at 10am today.
