STEAM locomotives and trolley rides helped signal a successful day out at Didcot Railway Centre’s Steam Gala.
The two-day event – called All in a Day’s Work – was held this weekend for the second time.
The special guest was a Sentinel Isebrook locomotive, built in 1926, which travelled from Quainton Railway Centre in Buckinghamshire.
Gilly Valler, four, from Marston, brought along her mum Lisa, dad Dave and her little brother Ted, and couldn’t wait to get going.
Gilly, pictured, said: “I went on two trains but I wanted to go on three.”
Mrs Valler said: “Everyone had a great time, we all rode on the trains, one of which was used to carry athletes to the 1908 Olympics. Everyone there was really friendly.”
As well as a selection of steam locomotives, engineers showed off signalling on the branch line and gave shunting demonstrations and Wickham trolley rides.
