The Fun for 30 campaign aims to let children know about the work of staff at the hospice for children and young people in Magdalen Road.

Pupils across Oxfordshire are being invited to take part in a 30-minute fundraising activity chosen by teachers or pupils.

On Thursday, 200 pupils from the Bostock Road school each donated £1 each for the hospice. They were joined by town mayor Monica Lovatt, pictured centre with schools fundraiser for the hospice, Cathy Pearl, who said: “I’m grateful to Carswell Primary School for kickstarting this campaign.

“Hopefully other primary schools will be able to spare just 30 minutes of a school day to raise money for their local children’s hospice.”

Oxford West and Abingdon MP Nicola Blackwood, who is backing the campaign, said: “Children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in some of their favourite activities in the charity’s red and orange colours.”
