A MAN accused of being a “nuisance neighbour” has appeared in court, accused of breaching his restraining order.

Keith Quartermain, 67, of Austin Place in Abingdon, has been barred from making noises outside his home between 7am and 10pm.

He was given the order in 2003 after setting up a “laughing machine” and making abusive signs which he put up in his garden.

It is claimed that he breached the order, which was initially for three years but was extended, on August 16 this year.

Quartermain appeared at Oxford Crown Court yesterday to attend a preliminary hearing.

The Crown Prosecution Service did not discuss the nature of the alleged breach.

Instead the matter was adjourned until Friday, December 7, for a further hearing.

Quartermain was released on unconditional bail.
