YOUNGSTERS in Abingdon got to grips with glasses this week as they took a trip to Specsavers.
Reception pupils at Our Lady’s junior school in Radley Road have been learning about the senses in a new class project.
From taste to touch and sight, the most recent element saw the children visit Specsavers in the Abbey Shopping Centre on Tuesday. Teacher Rachel Smales said: “The children have been learning about sense and became particularly interested in their eyes.
“So I took them to Specsavers, which was very accommodating.
“They learned how eyes can be tested, had a go on a couple of machines and saw how glasses and frames are made. The children really enjoyed it.”
The youngsters have been working throughout the term learning more about the different human senses.
At Specsavers the group was presented with a goody bag which included novelty toy spectacles.
