ABINGDON’S youngest singer star has been told she may just have the X Factor by one of the show’s original judges, Louis Walsh.
Sophie Elise, 10, performed in front of the former Boyzone manager at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.
The primary school pupil sang a mash-up of Ceelo Green’s Crazy and Ain’t no Mountain High Enough, and from what her mum Helen Atkinson said, wowed her audience.
Ms Atkinson said: “Louis’s comments were fantastic, saying she could definitely sing and he loved the mash up.
“He said she’s got the voice and needs to keep at it.”
Actress and singer Nicole Faraday said Sophie sounded like “a young Adele”, Ms Atkinson said.
Following that success in September, Sophie also sang at the national Open Mic competition regional finals in Reading on October 25. Performing her own original song Forget, she made it through to the London area finals winning a trophy from Rocket Fuel for best original song.
Residents will get a chance to hear Sophie in action at the Abingdon Christmas Extravaganza on Saturday, November 28.
Sophie will perform her own original Christmas song which she wrote this year, at 3pm.
