POLICE have released a picture of the counterfeit currency which led to two men being jailed.
The image of the fake Scottish bank notes, which all have the same serial number, was released by police after Ricky Burton, 30, of Gurney Road, Portsmouth, and Scott Reed, 28, of Ashurst Road, Portsmouth, were sentenced on Thursday.
During the trial Oxford Crown Court heard how the pair together were caught with the counterfeit cash when Reed tried to buy a pregnancy kit in Savers Abingdon.
Following the conviction, Thames Valley Police has issued a warning to businesses to look out for this sort of crime and educate staff on anti-counterfeit security feature on bank notes.
This includes raised print and holograms.
