Officers investigating a collision involving an 11-year-old girl have issued an appeal for witnesses to the incident.
At about 4.50pm yesterday, a white Iveco van was in collision with a cyclist in Copenhagen Drive, Abingdon.
The cyclist, an 11-year-old pupil at Larkmead School, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious head injuries.
Her condition was described as critical but stable.
Sgt Bryan Smith, of Thames Valley Police, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the van or the cyclist prior to the collision or who witnessed the collision itself.”
Witnesses should call Sgt Smith on 0845 8505505.
