A film featuring villagers from Southmoor and Kingston Baguize may be a hit after a screening at an international film festival.
Tortoise in Love, which was written and directed by resident Guy Browning, was shown at the star-studded Cannes Film Festival on Saturday. The romantic comedy was filmed in Kingston Bagpuize and residents clubbed together to fund it and provide costumes, hairstyling, accommodation and catering. Many also made appearances in the £180,000 movie.
Producer Steffan Aquarone said: “About 30 people came to the screening and that was about exactly our capacity. They were all industry professionals and buyers.
“These sorts of screenings are usually extremely cutthroat and people will leave when they get bored. But we had almost everyone stay to the end of the film.”
