A 24-year-old woman suffered a lump on her head after an altercation with a man outside Tesco Express in Cockcroft Road, Didcot.
The assault happened on Sunday at about 4.30am, but police only released details yesterday.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and was released on bail until January 2.
