YOUNG people have been getting expert careers advice from Oxfordshire County Council through the summer thanks to the ApprenticeSHOP roadshow.

The service ended in Didcot last week with teenagers getting information about apprenticeships and jobs across the county.

Project advisor Paddy Patterson said: “We have spoken to so many people who have gone away with information and ideas, which has made this very worthwhile.

“We have had young people thinking about choices with their family members, employers thinking about taking on apprentices and also schools asking for our help with advising their students about post-16 options.

“Running our first ever ApprenticeSHOP in Didcot was a great way to round off our month-long tour of the county.”

MP for Didcot and Wantage Ed Vaizey said: “It was a great opportunity for young people in the constituency to find out more about the excellent opportunities that apprenticeships can offer.”
