A music festival was held on Saturday in memory of 10-year-old Didcot boy Freddie Perry who died in an accident.

Fred Fest, held at the Christian Life Centre in Cowley Road, Oxford, included a 12-hour show, featuring Get Loose, Terminus, Cop Out, Sylva Kay, The Rollrights and Gypsy Miguel.

It was organised by Freddie’s dad Lea and mum Judith to raise funds for the charity set up in the boy’s memory to highlight road safety schemes.

Herald Series:

Freddie, pictured above, died after running between two parked vehicles and being struck by a vehicle near his home in Oxford Crescent, Didcot, on September 10 last year.

A new 20mph zone has been put in place in the road, though speed was not a factor in Freddie’s death. It is not yet known how much Fred Fest raised.
