THE story behind Father Christmas will come to life for children in Didcot thanks to a play featuring the man himself.

Based on the book by L Frank Baum, The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus explains the mysteries of Christmas, including how Father Christmas builds all of his toys and how stockings came to exist.

Organsiers said the Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot was the perfect place to hold the show, becoming a home from home for Saint Nick.

Standing in for Santa, actor Andrew Pugsley said: “It feels like Didcot is twinned with Lapland. There is nothing better to get you in the Christmas mood than putting on a Christmas show. The Didcot kids are great.”

There are performances every day from Saturday to Christmas Eve and tickets cost £12.
