RESIDENTS took matters into their own hands with a community litter pick to rid their town of rubbish.
Starting on Fulwell Close, Abingdon, a group of people swept the streets from 8.30am until1pm.

Councillor for Abingdon, Alice Badcock, said that the council was making every effort to clear the area of litter and that it was “wonderful” for local residents to be going to such efforts.
Oliver Colmer, 10, who was involved in the litter pick, said that he was taking part to “try to help the environment and to make it better”.
