THE FUNERAL of murdered Janet and Derin Jordon will take place at Oxford Crematorium, St John’s Chapel on June 11.

The service for the mother and daughter is planned to start at 3pm and the family has requested bright colours to be worn rather than black.

Janet, 48 and Derin, six, along with Janet’s partner Philip Howard, 44, were found murdered in their Vicarage Road home in Didcot on Saturday, May 23.

Post-mortem examinations revealed they each died of multiple stab wounds.

A report is being prepared based on the results and will be handed to the coroner’s office in due course before an inquest is opened.

The family has asked for donations in lieu of flowers for Seesaw, a service that helps bereaved children and young people in Oxfordshire, or the Blue Cross, which is an animal welfare charity.

The Didcot community has been mourning the death of the family, with tributes pouring in last week after Vicarage Road was reopened following the police investigation at the murder scene.

Herald Series:
Janet Jordon, 48

One tribute laid near the house said: “To Dezzy, I used to be your childminder in 2011 and you were the most well behaved, kind hearted, sweet little girl who will be sorely missed by everyone.

“You and your family are in our hearts. Love from Clare, Keve, Josh and Olly.”

Another said: “Dear Janet and Phil, we cannot believe how and why you have been taken from this world.

“We will always remember you the way you were, forever in our hearts and our thoughts.”

In a police statement, the family of Mr Howard released a poem they had written, which said he was the “best there ever was”.

Police are yet to formally identify the body of six-year-old Derin, but said they believed the body found with her parents is hers.

A body, believed to be Ms Jordon’s son Jed Allen - who was the only police suspect in the murder investigation - was found in a wooded area near Marston Ferry Road on May 25. The post-mortem is yet to be completed.
