PLANS for the former Didcot A power station site to be transformed into 400 new homes will be decided on in six months’ time.

The deadline for residents and businesses to give their views on the plans has been and gone, and Vale of White Horse District Council now plan to make a decision on the plans on February 18 next year.

The application for the development, which was submitted at the beginning of June, includes plans for up to 400 homes with a convenience food store, a hotel with 150 rooms, a pub or restaurant and also a link road, open space and landscaping and drainage infrastructure.

If approved, the new development would be built directly on top of the old Didcot A power station site.

Already various councils have given their views on the plans for a housing development on the Didcot A site.

Some 43 different groups responded to the consultation on the plans.

The three cooling towers were demolished in July last year, after dominating the town’s skyline for 50 years.

Now just the Didcot B towers remain, with their demolition planned for next year.
