THESE Didcot mums are hoping their two businesses will prove to be a match made in heaven.

Dawn Gigg and Sharon Whyte have combined their two companies to make wedding catering business The Final Flourish.

They opened their new enterprise at wedding supplies shop The Wedding House in Hagbourne Road this month.

Mrs Gigg said: “The merging of our two businesses seemed an obvious next step.

“For us it’s not about simply decorating a venue for a couple’s wedding – it’s about enabling them to tell a story using their themes, colours and, most importantly, their personality to set the scene.”

Mother-of-two Mrs Gigg, 46, ran her celebration cake business The Glorious Bakeshop for 10 years.

In November she decided to make inroads into the wedding industry by opening The Final Flourish, creating centrepieces and table styling. She has been joined by Mrs Whyte, 44, a mother-of-five who has for the last 11 months been running Candelabra, creating candles and hand-decorated gifts.

The two met while they were both suppliers to The Wedding House.

Each had extensive careers within the human resources and recruitment industry but decided to leave behind the corporate world following the births of their youngest children.

Mrs Whyte said: “We pride ourselves on creating a bespoke style for each event, choosing from our extensive range of for hire centrepieces and props.”
