A MAN accused of rape “smirked” and “made jokes” as he attacked an 18-year-old woman in Didcot, a court heard.

Timothy Lee, 22, denies raping and assaulting the woman at a house, in Queensway, Didcot, on August 29, 2014.

A jury of three men and nine women at Oxford Crown Court yesterday was told how the woman arranged to meet Lee at the house over Facebook.

In a interview with police, she said Lee was in a “mood” when she arrived and started questioning her about a male friend while they sat in his bedroom.

Jurors heard Lee then began stroking the alleged victim’s leg before pulling her trousers off, undoing her buttons and raping her.

The woman said: “I said I did not want to have sex with him and he kept telling me it was going to happen anyway. I remember sitting there crying.

“I tried to force him off but he is much stronger than me. He carried on with what he was doing, sort of smirking and laughing and making jokes. I felt very uncomfortable.”

The woman, now 19, also told police she was in “agony” after Lee punched her on the side of her body while he allegedly raped her.

The court heard she also told police during her interview Lee started playing on his Xbox after the attack while she lay on his bed in pain.

Defence barrister Gareth James put it to the woman that she told police Lee attacked her on a Wednesday but August 29 was a Friday.

Lee, of no fixed abode, also denies raping the woman between March 21, 2014 and August 28, 2014.

The trial continues.
