A CLASSIC steamroller slowed down motorists as it trundled past Didcot Parkway train station.

It was just one of hundreds of vehicles from bygone eras to pitch up at Didcot Railway Centre for the annual transport rally on Sunday.

The main focus of this year's event was on the Thames Valley and Great Western Omnibus Trust's vintage bus services.

Railway centre commercial manager Ann Middleton said: "It was a wonderful day, it is always a good fun family event.

"And it was wonderful to be able to focus on all the buses from the past.

"I know a lot of residents had a good time enjoying an old fashioned ride."

Throughout the day visitors were able to enjoy a ride on the buses, which dated from 1946 right through to 1988.

The routes took them through the neighbouring towns and villages of Harwell, Wantage, Blewbury, East Hagbourne and West Hagbourne.
