POLICE officers are going door-to-door in Didcot after burglars smashed their way into two homes.

The incidents, in the Northbourne area of the town, saw games consoles and jewellery stolen by offenders who broke windows to enter two properties between 11.30am and 7pm on Thursday.

Police also believe an attempted burglary in the same area is linked to the incidents.

Here, offenders tried to break panels in a door between 3.30pm on Wednesday and 7am on Thursday.

The names of roads targeted have not been released by police who are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Investigating officer DC Daniel Tibble, based at Abingdon police station, said: "We are currently conducting door to door enquiries and residents can expect to see more of our officers in the area.

"As this warm weather is expected to continue, I would like to remind the public to remember to remain vigilant whilst doors and windows are left open. Anything left within easy reach of these may be taken by opportunistic burglars."

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote reference number 43180117811.
