Enough is enough. How many times do residents have to endure repeated planning applications for a bar/restaurant at 218 Broadway, Didcot? Yet another application has gone in - this is now the third.
This shows complete contempt by the applicant for the residents whose views are well known from two previous similar change-of-use applications.
The location is unsuitable for a bar/restaurant because: It is in a residential area There is inadequate parking for the staff, let alone proposed customers. This means that residents will have to endure the disruption/anti-social aspects related to customers arriving and leaving Residents have difficulty parking without the situation being exacerbated There are already ample eateries.
The consultation needs to be suspended because of official and other errors. These need to be amended before it goes back out to consultation.
A letter from council says views on the plan are required by September 9, but the online close of consultation is September 19. South Oxfordshire District Council has reduced the consultation period. The plans are so small that they are difficult to read.
It is stated that a site notice was put up on August 29, yet there was no visible planning notice displayed either on that date or the following morning.
Retail outlets should remain retail outlets, with opening times relative to the retail trade, not the pub/ bar trade.
