The properties in Chilton near Didcot were affected when the 10-inch pipe burst in Townsend Road at 6.45pm on Friday, flooding three roads.

Thames Water handed out bottled water while its engineers tried to solve the problem.

Fire crews used a pump to remove water from the area and last night Thames Water staff fixed the pipe at 6pm.

Spokesman Martin Wells said: "The burst was repaired at 6pm last night and everything is back to normal."

He apologised for the disruption.
