Midsomer Murders will be welcoming its very first Asian actor to a lead role in its 18th series.
The TV drama is currently being filmed and Manjinder Virk, who will play Dr Kam Karimore, will be the first non-white actor to land a leading role.
Locations including Wallingford’s Market Place, Watlington and Brightwell Baldwin have been used in the show.
The casting follows the suspension of executive producer Brian True-May in 2011, who described the show as “the last bastion of Englishness” because of the lack of ethnicity in the cast.
