A QUIET residential street in Abingdon became part of a police investigation yesterday as bones were found under a patio.
A terraced house in Shelley Close was cordoned off by police at about 11am after reports of remains discovered underneath the garden patio.
It is believed they were found during building work for an extension at the house.
A neighbour said: “The people who live there had only moved in recently, they had begun some work for a patio extension.”

Police and CID attended the scene, while serious organised crime officers also visited the house.
Last night, Thames Valley Police confirmed the bones were from an animal but could not say what animal.
This followed a forensics investigation of the site.
