1,200 homes lose power

About 1,200 homes were affected by a power cut yesterday.
Power was restored at about 11.15am after homes in West Hill, Challow Road, Ham Road, Warmans Close and Dean Butler Close were cut off at 9.20am.
A spokesman for Southern Electric said: “There was a fault with an underground high-voltage cable. We don’t know yet if this was linked to the cold weather.”
