A THREATENING invasive species is being killed in one village to help protect a British burrower.
Volunteers in Grove have been tearing out unwieldy Himalayan balsam plants from the brook on the village green to maintain the native water vole habitat and foraging area.
The volunteers for the Letcombe Brook Project have also recently met with the developers behind a new housing estate west of Station Road in the village to discuss how best to protect the environment there.
