SINGERS will raise the roof at a community health day.
Wantage Health Centre will host an extravaganza of healthy living and community spirit on Saturday, September 17, also including Morris dancing, clog dancing and face-painting.
Visitors will also be challenged to decorate a paper plate with a healthy meal, to find out what food they should really be eating.
Local health organisations will hold stalls throughout the event from 10.30am to 2.30pm, including Wantage Leisure Centre, Como Breast Cancer Support Group from Grove, Oxfordshire Prostate Cancer Support Group and a local diabetes support group .
National charity such as the The Stroke Association, Go Active and Age UK will offer advice on staying healthy.
Ardington Walking Group, the local Guides and Scouts will also be touting their healthy-living merits.
The day has been organised by the patient involvement groups for the health centre's two GP practices, Church Street and Newbury Street.
Mayor of Wantage Steve Trinder will open the event and there will be refreshments provided by the Guides.
The public information drive comes as health services in Wantage face a major shake-up, with the future of Wantage Community Hospital uncertain and a major expansion planned at the health centre on Mably Way.
